So, I start a lot of my entries with the word so. So ANYWAYS. There is a funeral going on right now about 15 feet from the door to my office. Yep. And I started reading a book last night that might be one of the best books I have read in a really long time. It's called "Killing yourself to Live" by Chuck Klosterman. As I was reading it, I was listening to DMB for the first time in years. I'm actually kind of embarrased that I was, now that I mention it. ANYWAYS. I was listening to Ant's Marching and realized that I know all of the words, but have never really thought about what they mean. One part in particular rolled around in my mind for about 96 seconds:
Candyman tempting the thoughts of a
Sweet tooth tortured by the weight loss
Program cutting the corners
Loose end, loose end, cut, cut
On the fence, not to offend
Cut, cut, cut, cut
Take these chances
Place them in a box until a quieter time
Lights down, you up and die
I never realized what this whole song was about. I'm not gonna really go in to details but, I thought I should at least point out the fact that these lyrics are at least somewhat profound.
I just noticed that two of my favorite authors (Klosterman and Don Miller) both write ANYWAYS in ALL CAPS, so I thought I would just go ahead and rip that off.
Like the title of this entry suggests, you may file this entry under "M" for "misc."
